Young Moray bands offered chance to shine

Elgin Town Hall is hosting a free event to allow local young bands to bring their music to a large audience.

The bands will be play on the venue's stage on Friday, November 29.

Donnie Squair is one of the team of volunteers who have taken over the town hall from Moray Council.

He said: "Bands aged under 18 rarely get a chance to play outwith School. This will be a chance to redress that.

"Moray has a lot of talented musicians and it is great to give bands the opportunity to shine.

"It's also a chance for younger music fans to come along and see seome live music."

Bands confirmed are The Zebecks from Elgin Academy, Biblical from Lossie High and Blind Side from Elgin High School.

Also performing will be the students from Moray Music School

Closing the night will be The Roov who, having formed in 2016, have recently supported Geno Washinton at Lossiemouth Town Hall.

The four-piece disco, soul and rock and roll band also played to a full tent at this year's Belladrum Festival.

Doors 6pm. Free entry. All ages.
