Forres Golf Club manager Sean Blacklaw was full of praise for the six-time champion.

He said: "Bryan is back in really, really good form.

"After a long spell out of the winners' circle, it's great to see one of Forres' best ever amateur golfers back winning."

The handicap tournaments were won by Andrew Moore (Nigg Bay Golf Club) and Steven Charles Grant (Elgin Golf Club).

Moore defeated Andrew Reid (Hopeman Golf Club) in the Fraser Cup final, while Grant defeated Roy Mackie (Kinghorn Golf Club) in the Capri Tray to defend his title from last year.

Sean Blacklaw added: "It's very rare for a player to defend a title in a Five Day Open, so for Steven to defend the Capri Tray is an amazing achievement and one that isn't often done.

"It was a great week and it was great to have the social side of things back this year after a couple of years away with Covid restrictions.

"We've had people from as far away as Australia coming to join us so we need to thank all our competitors, and volunteers.

"We hope everyone who took part really enjoyed themselves and we hope to see everyone again for the competition next year."

The Forres Cup was won by local player Jamie Begeman, the Stevenson Cup went to Invergordon’s Steve Buchan and the Doctor Adam Trophy was won by Robert J Fraser, Kenneth Fisher and Neil Rainey.
