A TEAM from Buckie Boys' Brigade went out for a run – and came back laden with trophies.

Lads from the Company and Junior section made their way to Turriff on Saturday, November 6 to compete in te annual Battalion cross-country run. It was a welcome return for the race which, like so many others fell to the Covid restrictions in place in 2020.

It was well worth the wait for the Buckie lads as they claimed triumph in the overall contest as well as a number of individual victories and top three placings.

Standing between the boys and the silverware were teams from 2nd Turriff and 1st Banff.

One of those delighted with the team's performance was Buckie BB officer Malcolm Smith.

He said: "We took around 20 boys to Turriff and it was great to be back in action again.

"It was a great performance from the team and we're delighted to have taken the overall title.

"The standard of competition was high."

Smith went on to praise the families and friends of the boys for their support at the event.
