LEADERS Buckie Thistle staged a late fightback at Turriff to snatch a point with a 2-2 draw.

The champions trailed 2-0 with just nine minutes remaining when skipper Michael Morrison got one back.

And two minutes later Lewis Mackinnon headed the Jags level.

At Mackessack Park, Rothes climbed into the top six with a fortuitous 2-1 win over vistors Huntly.

After a goalless first half, Huntly went ahead through Barry Somers and missed chances to kill the game before Stuart Massie levelled for the home side.

Pat Vigurs was then sent off for the visitors and Matty Fraser grabbed a late winner for the Speysiders.

Rothes boss Graham McBeath admitted: "We didn't play well today but we showed a lot of character to win the game.

"At 1-0 Huntly should have killed the game.

"There was a bit of flatness about us and our better players didn't do enough for us."

Huntly boss Dave McGinlay said: "We have given away the three points. There was a 20 minute spell at the start of the second half when it could have been four or 5-1 to us, it was just down to a poor final ball or wrong decision-making on our part.

"We had about ten chances in the game and Neil Hastie didn't really have a save to make but had to pick the ball out of the net twice."

There was drama in the Aberdeenshire Cup final as Keith lost a 4-2 lead to see Deveronvale lift the trophy 5-4.

Mike McKenzie put the Banffers ahead before Kris Niddrie and Andy Anderson made it 2-1 to Keith.

Mark Chisholm levelled before the break for 'Vale, only for Cammy Keith and a Chris Blackhall own goal to put Darren Still's side in command.

However, three goals in an amazing six minute spell saw Deveronvale lift the cup with goals from McKenzie, Grant Noble and Blackhall.

Elsewhere in the Highland League, Lossiemouth beat Formartine Utd 2-0 with goals from Colin Charlesworth and Nikki Smith.

Nairn County beat Clach 3-0, Cove won 4-2 at Locos and Fraserburgh beat Brora Rangers 5-0.
