There had been 130 entries as of Tuesday morning, with the deadline for entering online at midnight on Wednesday.

Race organiser Paul Hughes, of Forres Harriers, is confident there will be the usual surge of entries in the next 24 hours.

A total of 53 runners have completed all three races so far at Nairn, Elgin and Buckie.

Leading the way for the men is Gordon Lennox, Inverness Harriers, who is 1min 10s ahead of Max Abernethy from Fraserburgh.

The ladies title looks to be heading the way of Caroline Marwick of Inverness Harriers as she has a 4m 22s advantage over Moray Road Runners' Michelle Slater.

The race starts at 11am on Sunday from Benromach Distillery in Forres, with registration on the day in Forres Town Hall from 9.30-10.30am. Runners cannot enter on the day.
