Elgin City women’s football team miss out on Scottish Power Regional League Cup final spot as Cumbernauld Colts Women triumph in Borough Briggs semi-final





Elgin City women’s football team saw their cup final hopes dashed on Sunday.

The SWFL North side took on Cumbernauld Colts Women in the semi-finals of the Scottish Power Regional League Cup.

And despite creating a number of chances in the game, City lost out to a single goal scored on 18 minutes.

A good crowd turned out at Borough Briggs to see Michael Morrison’s side aim to make history in only their second season.

Instead it was the travelling Colts who won through to the final where they will play Edinburgh Uni Thistle.

Elgin will turn their focus to their SWFL North campaign, where they have won eight games out of eight so far.
