BUCKIE Ladies’ League Cup clash against Nairn on Sunday was an occasion to remember for Skye Smith when she celebrated her first goal for the club.

The cup holders were at home for their second qualifying group stage match, sweeping aside the Highland visitors 6-1.

Buckie went on the attack during the first half, with the team creating a host of chances. Lori Lappin gave Buckie an early lead around the four minute mark before Alena Gardiner doubled the home advantage with 21 minutes on the clock.

Nairn, however, continued to press and got their reward when Isla Campbell pulled one back, the teams going in at half-time with the score at 2-1.

The second half was only 10 minutes old when Emily McAuslan pounced with half an hour to go to make it 3-1. Shortly after Smith made it four with her debut strike.
