The Maroons took on Deveronvale in their bid to move up to ninth spot in the table.

Decidedly looking off colour they found their hosts quicker, sharper and more eager on the night, and ended up playing second fiddle for most of the game.

The Banffers grabbed the lead in the ninth minute, Dane Ballard driving a 15-yarder into the roof of the net.

The nearest Keith came to scoring in what was a lacklustre first half display, was a dipping Michael Selfridge shot that flew inches off target.

The Maroons were forced to replace goalie Craig Reid at half-time through injury, replacing him with 17-year-old Kyle Irvine.

The youngster proved his worth in the second half, showing good handling and pulled off at least three good saves.

He was helpless though in the 55th minute when Matt Jamieson curled a 12-yarder into the top corner of the net.

A disappointing display and result for the visitors, but they could have no complaints with the outcome as they went home pointless.

Keith team: Reid (Irvine 46), Jeffrey, Emmett (Scaife 76), Yeats, R Robertson, Yunus (Gray 65), Thomas, Andrews, Selfridge, Nawrocki, Strachan. Subs: McKeown, Stewart, McCredie, J Robertson.
