Elgin City manager Allan Hale praises Kyle Girvan for centre back display to cover for injury to Ross Draper and Jake Dolzanski as stopper prepares to face former club Stranraer
Elgin City have two key defenders out injured but manager Allan Hale says he has the squad to compensate.
He expects the loss of Jake Dolzanski and Ross Draper to hit his team hard but says Kyle Girvan reverting to centre back was a successful move in Saturday’s Scottish Cup win over Clyde.
Dolzanski limped off the recent league win at Spartans with an aggravation of a knee problem while Draper pulled his quad muscle in the cup success, coming off just minutes into the tie.
Hale said in his video interview after the Clyde win that Girvan impressed in central defence alongside Jack Murray.
The City boss is expected to keep Girvan in that position against his former club Stranraer this weekend.
The Black and Whites are looking to protect their ten-game unbeaten League 2 record against a Stranraer side on good form of late.
