A MORAY club is serving up badminton sessions for junior and adult players, starting on Monday.

Elgin City Badminton Club was formed by Lloyd Griffiths last year with the aim of giving the sport more profile.

Play gets underway once again at Moray College sports hall on Monday night.

Junior sessions are held for school pupils between P6 and S3 age, with a few places still available.

Adults can join drop-in sessions for all levels, and Griffith explains: "We have a court just for beginners and some basic coaching is available to get people started."

Griffith was keen to give badminton a restart in Moray, with several clubs and leagues in the past but nothing in recent years.

On forming the club last year he said: “I’m hoping this will allow kids to play more competitions as well as potentially allow friendlies against slightly more
far-flung clubs.

“As they get older, it will allow older kids to progress to playing as an adult which currently very few do.”

For more information or to take up badminton with the club, call Lloyd Griffiths on 07447 462997.
