Elgin City defeated 1-0 by Stranraer in Scottish League Two

Elgin City’s difficult run of form away from home continued with a 1-0 defeat at Stranraer.

Matthew Grant’s 67th-minute goal, scored from all of 40 yards, gave the hosts all three points at Stair Park.

It means City are seven matches without a win on the road - stretching back to a 3-1 success against Spartans in Edinburgh in October.

The Black and Whites remain third in League Two, but are now nine points adrift of league leaders East Fife and five points behind second place Peterhead.

Both of those sides failed to win today and City have a game in hand on both.

Edinburgh City joined City on 40 points with a thumping 5-0 win over local rivals Spartans. The gap back to fifth place Stirling Albion is seven points.
