The SPFL unveiled all league fixtures for the 2022-23 cinch league season on Friday and handed City a Borough Briggs opener in League 2.

They take on East Fife who finished bottom of League One last term and were relegated.

Two away matches at Stirling and Forfar follow for an Elgin side eager to get off to a good start following a disappoining last campaign when they finished second bottom.

The Black and Whites will play three different teams this season with East Fife and Dumbarton being relegated while Lowland League Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic were promoted following a play-off win over Cowdenbeath.

City's first-ever match against Bonnyrigg is their sixth match of the season at Borough Briggs on September 3.

A week earlier they visit Dumbarton who City last faced on league business in 2009.
