Wednesday's draw handed City their fifth away draw of the competition and they will head to Kirkcaldy on November 16 or 17.

The Black and Whites have been on the road for the entire tournament so far.

They won 4-3 at Easter Road against Hibs Colts in the first round before edging out Brechin City 5-4 at Glebe Park.

City pulled off one of the shocks of the cup by winning 2-1 against Championship side Dundee in last month's third round.

They kept on springing surprises when they won 2-0 at League 1 Airdrie on Saturday, with Kane Hester and Shane Sutherland both scoring in the final two minutes.

Raith are currently top of League 1 and beat Northern Irish side Glenavon in the fourth round.

They last played Elgin in July 2005 in the first round of the Challenge Cup, with City forcing extra time at Starts Park before going down 3-1.
