ELGIN City's reward for defeating Dundee in the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Cup is an away tie against League One side Airdrieonians.

The live feed of the draw was somewhat of a shambles, only starting when five teams were left in the hat leaving clubs and fans alike completely unaware of who they had drawn.

But the SPFL have now confirmed the draw and it will be a trip to the Excelsior to face Airdrie for Gavin Price's City.

Airdrie defeated Bohemians of the Irish top flight 3-2 in the last round and, given they operate on a half part-time and half full-time basis, will provide stern opposition.

The tie will take place on October 12/13, with the winner progressing to the quarter finals of the competition.

FULL DRAW: Arbroath v Clyde; Airdrie v Elgin; Raith v Glenavon; Partick Thistle v Connah's Quay; Wrexham v St Mirren Colts; Stenhousemuir v Waterford; Solihull Moors v Ballymena or Rangers Colts; Inverness CT v Alloa Athletic.
