Ross Jack's men now know they will face Albion Rovers in the two-legged game after the Coatbridge side finished second bottom of the second division after losing 2-1 to already relegated Stirling Albion.

Elgin will go into Wednesday night's first leg at Borough Briggs in good heart after ending the regulation season with a win against a side which is also in the play-offs.

Ross Jack made a number of changes to the side, clearly with one eye on the play-off game.

Archie MacPhee got Elgin off to the perfect start with a goal after just four minutes.

Jason Crooks added a second on 74 minutes to put City firmly in command.

And sub Jamie Duff made it 3-0 with nine minutes remaining.

Queens Park grabbed a consolation goal two minutes from the end of the game.

Jack had a spy at the Albion Rovers game, and will now be plotting the Coatbridge side's downfall.

City could potentially face Queens Park again if they can overcome Stranraer in the other semi-final.

A bumber crowd is expected at Borough Briggs on Wednesday night for City's first ever play-off game since joining the Scottish Football League 12 years ago.

City: Clark, Niven (Duff), Durnan, MacPhee, McMullan, Millar, O'Donoghue, Cooper (McLean), Wilson (Halford), Beveridge, Crooks. Not used: Moore, Black.
