Entry is under way for the fifth running of the Tomintoul race, sponsored by Tomintoul distillery and taking place on Sunday, June 16.

An undulating route, a mixture of tarmac and track heads down the famously beautiful Glen Avon before finishing in the village square. There are prizes for all categories and medals for all finishers, plus the incentives of an extra prize for breaking the course record.

Barry McDonald won in 40.05 last year with Sarah Ward claiming the ladies’ race in 45.37. First Moray runner was Gary Grant in fourth, winning the male veteran prize.

Ex-Forres Harrier and reigning Northern Scot 10k champion Gordon Lennox set the course record of 34.31 with Victoria Needham’s 39.46 still the fastest ladies’ time.

Entries will be accepted on the day up until 1.30pm with the race beginning at 2pm.
