Final day of Moray five day open under way

A MAXIMUM field of 336 has been in action at Moray Golf Course in Lossiemouth for the 114th edition of the five day open.
Qualifiers took place on Monday and Tuesday, with players then being split into three categories (scratch, handicap 1 and handicap 2) before head-to-head matches started on Wednesday.
Wednesday and Thursday saw the field whittled down to four remaining golfers in each of three sections – with golf having teed off at 8.30am this morning.
Semi final results will be clear at lunchtime before the finals take place in the afternoon. Full results will be available from dinner time.
The scratch section semi finals are Kieran Mackay vs Kevin Thomson and Malcolm Macleman. Handicap group one semis are Neil McKinnon vs Bryan Robson and Kenny Findlay vs Aaron Stewart, while the handicap second group semis are Euan Docherty vs Gary Whitlock and Liam Mitchell vs Ray Thomson.
On the new course, competitors who didn’t make the top 96 competed in Stableford and Bogey competitions – ensuring nobody went home early.
