BENROMACH distillery in Forres is the backdrop for the final race in the Northern Scot 10k series.

The Benromach 10k begins at 2.30pm on Sunday, organised by Forres Harriers with the start and finish line at the distillery.

Entry closes at midnight tonight (Thursday). Enter here

Last year's men's series runner-up James Wilson is the front runner to take this year's title after winning his home club Moray Road Runners' 10k and the Buckie 10k, as well as finishing third at Nairn.

Kevin Ewing (Keith and District) and Ryan McLennan (MRR) also figure high up the overall men's rankings.

Two of Wilson's club colleagues are in contention for the ladies' prize, schoolgirl Grace Whelan and Elspeth Jenkins, wife of last year's men's champion Gareth.

Sunday's entrants cannot make the usual walk across the railway crossing to Benromach, but must head over the new road bridge to the left of the old crossing to reach the start.

Entries are not accpeted on the day and registration is between 1pm and 2pm at Forres Town Hall, where the presentations will take place later in the afternoon.
