FOGWATT have emerged victorious in the latest Morayshire Indoor Bowling Association competition.
Skipped by Gordon Wiles, the Fogwatt team defeated Elgin's Moray BC rink to claim the association triples crown at Duffus.
Fogwatt scored a double on the opening end but Moray, skipped by Malcolm Fletcher soon levelled scoring a double on end two.
Lee Denoon and Ronnie Watt were drawing superb bowls to help build up a 9-2 advantage for Fogwatt, with David Thomson and David Campbell playing solidly for the Elgin side to reduce the deficit to four shots with five ends to play.
Fogwatt always looked the more likely keeping the heads tight and not allowing Moray to build up a head of bowls.
Wiles was quite happy to collect singles on ends 11 and 12, with the 13th end being blanked. Fogwatt collected another single on the penultimate end with a superb drawn bowl by Watt for a six-shot advantage heading into the final end.
Moray played positional bowls in the hope of manufacturing a big end, but their opponents played astute bowls to claim their first major association trophy since 2006 when Norman Walker won the Campbell Cup.
Bishopmill are through to the end of season showpiece rinks final with a comprehensive display at home to Fogwatt.
The Elgin club started the stronger with superb bowls to build up a commanding lead, where Fogwatt struggled for any consistency on the opposition carpet.
After 12 ends there was no way back for the visitors, and Bishopmill will now play either Alves or Elgin at the Ex Service club in the final on April 2.
