Forres Bowling Club pay tribute to young bowler Caitlin Dustan by naming tournament in memory of the 15-year-old who died last week

The week's play at Forres Bowling Club paled into insignificance on Friday morning when the club heard the devastating news of the passing of 15-year-old member, Caitlin Dustan.
Caitlin was a promising young bowler, who, just last season, won her first trophy at the club.
As a mark of respect, the club will rename that trophy the Caitlin Dustan Triples.
A controlled second half performance saw Wilma Petrie, Alana Coutts and Gary Mackie take the plaudits at the first Scott Cup hat-night of the season on Monday night.
Although just leading Alex Porter 6-5 at the halfway stage, the only shots they dropped thereafter were at the final end. Alex' grip on the trophy is slipping already.

The Wednesday afternoon was a tightly contested affair where Mary Sobey and Charlie Watt finished in the top spot. They were the only team to keep on the move, winning all four sets.

After suffering an early loss of five shots, Thursday's moving hat-night was won by Lesley Mackintosh, Charlie Watt and Paul Coutts. They scored 16 shots without reply over eight mid-evening ends.

The District 2 Scottish National Championship qualifiers begin on Saturday. Mary Sobey travels to Keith to compete against an Aberchirder representative in the over-55s ladies singles.
It is local derby time next Tuesday in the over-55s league with Forres make the short journey to Grant Park.
