The Black and Whites needed an 88th minute equaliser from stopper Jack Murray to force penalties, after Clyde led from Jordan Allan’s strike in first half stoppage time.

Glavin then saved a Logan Dunachie penalty in the second half of extra time, while the home team passed up countless chances to win the game in the 120 minutes.

Russell Dingwall was denied by Elgin’s first spot kick but Glavin saved from Andy Murdoch and Kyle Connell to give his team the advantage.

But Ryan Sargent blazed his kick over and it went into sudden death.

At 4-4, Glavin kept out Craig Howie’s kick only for Clyde keeper Robbie Hemfrey to deny Mark Gallagher the winning strike.

Glavin saved from Jordan Houston, and Owen Cairns passed up the chance to win it as Hemfrey saved again.

Both keepers scored as all eleven players from each side took a kick, but with their 12th effort Clyde saw Paul McKay beaten by Glavin’s sixth save, and Dingwall stepped up to win the shoot-out 8-7.
