RYAN Green can’t wait for Saturday to come when Forres Mechanics can clinch the Highland League.

Green for go. Forres can win the title on Saturday.

They are now just three points away from only the second league title in their history and Green wants to do it in front of a packed Mosset Park crowd.

"Hopefully there will be a bumper crowd and everybody will get behind us and roar us to the title," he said.

"It has been a bit surreal to be top of the league and it is only in the last two to three games it has hit me how well we have done.

"Obviously there will be nerves on Saturday but we have to use that in a positive way."

Green, who will be due a testimonial next season after 10 years at Mosset Park, would love to score the winning goal to clinch the league.

Manager Charlie Rowley is challenging his Forres Mechanics’ team to become ‘legends’.

A thousand-strong crowd is expected inside Mechanics’ Mosset Park ground for a vital clash which manager Rowley is relishing.

"Apart from guys in the coaching team, nobody at the club has been in this position before. Saturday is a massively important day for everybody connected with Forres.

"This club has only won the league once in 127 years, so this is a chance for the players to go down in history as legends if they can do it."

The Northern Scot will have reporters Craig Christie and Chris Saunderson at Mosset Park on Saturday.

Photographer Eric Cormack will also be there to capture what will hopefully be a title party.
