BUCKIE Thistle kept tabs on league leaders Fraserburgh after a narrow 1-0 victory over Deveronvale at Princess Royal Park on Wednesday.

Thistle took the lead through defender Shaun Carroll inside three minutes, but they never added to their advantage as they seen the match out with a clean sheet.

Buckie were the only Moray side to record a victory – but Keith got a positive point against Nairn County at Kynoch Park.

Manager Dean Donaldson said: "It was a very good game and played at a high tempo.

"Both sides had chances to go on and win the game but overall a draw was a fair result."

Forres also picked up a single point, but Cans boss Charlie Rowley was less pleased with his side's 2-2 draw with Wick Academy at Mosset Park.

Forres led 2-0 with 20 minutes to play but chucked their lead away to draw.

Rowley said: "What a disappointment that was. I never felt from minute one that we were at our full potential.

"Wick were never out of it and were thoroughly deserving of their point – I thought they played really well."

Lossiemouth were defeated 3-0 by Fraserburgh at Grant Park, having fallen behind within 25 seconds, while Rothes were cruelly beaten 2-1 by Brora Rangers after conceding in added time.

Caretaker manager Nathan Sharp said: "I think we worked hard enough to deserve a point definitely. It's always frustrating when you lose a late goal."
