Elgin City striker Dajon Golding hails his incredible Borough Briggs goal and says making the William Hill League 1 play-offs is more important
It’s a goal that will be remembered for many years.
Dajon Golding ran three-quarters the length of the Borough Briggs pitch to net the finest strike of his career and help Elgin City reach the League 1 play-offs.
The Londoner spoke after the game about his breath-taking counter in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Stranraer.
Golding broke up a Stranraer attack not far outside his own penalty area and raced forward, at one point surrounded by three opponents who he spun past to continue his surge into the visiting penalty area before jinking inside and burying a low drive inside the post.
It was a strike that had everyone in the Borough Briggs stand on their feet, and was still being talked about long after the final whistle.
Russell Dingwall and Mark Gallagher also found the net in a victory which sealed City’s place in the play-offs for the fourth time.
