Skinner parted company with the Christie Park club at the weekend, having been in charge for the past two seasons.

"I respect his decision and therefore have accepted his resignation," said club chairman Gordon Carter.

"On behalf of the club I would like to thank Martin for all his dedication and hard work since he took over the manager’s role in August 2018.

"He leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the club."

A former assistant manager at Keith, Skinner arrived at Huntly as assistant boss to Charlie Charlesworth before taking over as caretaker manager when Charlesworth quit in the summer of 2018.

He was appointed as new manager in August of that year and guided Huntly to a top half finish as they were placed ninth in his first season.

Last term, a difficult start saw Huntly lose their first six league matches to sink to joint bottom, before recovering to reach 12th place when the campaign ended prematurely in March due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
