Sansum Martial Arts return with medals galore from Kanzen International Karate Competition in Dundee





A group of martial artists returned from a competition with 15 medals.

There, they found themselves taking on competitors from Europe.

A Sansum Martial Arts spokesperson said: “The way each and every Sansum competitor carried themselves, managed their nerves and gave it their all on the tatami was inspiring to see for such a young competitive team.

“The team spirit and support throughout the day was admirable. We either win or we learn.

“For those who didn't return home with any silverware, you fought so well and learnt some valuable lessons.”

The gold medal winners were Sherrie Donavan, Scott Stevenson, Blake Sansum, Aayana Ito, Eilidh Regan and Lily Williams.

Sebastian Sansum and Poppy Douglas went one step further - winning a gold and silver medal.

Silver medals went to Leo Stevenson, Lewis Regan and Skylar Thompson, with Aimee Breed and Katie Barley receiving bronze medals.
