Striker Greg Morrison says talks taking place about moving to Inverness club Clachnacuddin from Rothes early after agreeing pre-contract deal to move next season
NEW Clachnacuddin signing Greg Morrison says there is a chance he could join up with his new team before the end of the season after agreeing a pre-contract deal with the Lilywhites.
But the 26-year-old says there are talks taking place which could see him move to the Inverness club before the end of this campaign.
The Muir of Ord joiner says when he eventually moves from Rothes to Clachnacuddin is out of his hands as he awaits to hear the outcome of discussions.
Speaking about talks, he said: “It is a pre-contract at the moment, but there is a view to get it done permanently. But we will see where it takes us.
“There is a chance a deal can be done beforehand and the clubs are discussing that at the moment to explore the option.”
Morrison says he is excited to be joining Clachnacuddin as he has been impressed with the turnaround at the Merkinch outfit from last season.
Finishing second bottom of the Highland League last season, Clachnacuddin currently find themselves in fourth place in the table.
Morrison says he has been impressed by the improvements made at Clachnacuddin and is excited to be part of the squad.
He said: “When I spoke to manager Conor Gethins, they have been doing really well compared to previous seasons.
“He told me the structure and the plan going forward and that is something that really appealed to me.
“Now that I have signed the pre-contract I am looking forward to be part of it. It is a local team for myself too. The deal ticked all the boxes for me and Clachnacuddin seems to be a good place for me right now.
“I got the feeling that Clachnacuddin were a team that never belonged at the bottom of the Highland League.
“Their achievements this season, such as winning at Brora Rangers and getting to the North of Scotland Cup final, it shows they are improving and learning as they are going throughout the season.
“They show they are willing to go after the big teams, they don’t appear to be settling for less. Their determination to progress and get better aligns with what I want to do on a personal level.
“I am looking forward to it and there is a feel good factor about the place, they are doing well in the league.
“It is exciting to almost be part of it.”
