Pictures from Moray Golf Club five-day open as knockout matchplay reaches quarter-finals stage

Moray Golf Club's five-day open has whittled numbers down to the final 24 quarter-finalists in the three handicap sections.

Scratch holder Matty Wilson remains in contention to retain his title following a 6&5 win over Bryan Robson (Hazelhead) in round one, and a 5&4 success over home member Malcolm L Macleman.

Wilson is on course this afternoon in the quarter-finals against club mate Ryan Copland, who saw off Nathan Sharp (Keith) 6&4 and Lewis West (Duff House Royal) 2&1.

The winner of last week's Elgin 5-day, Alan Duncan defeated Rory MacEwan 3&2 and Sandy Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) 4&3 to earn a last eight tie against Greg Telfer (Glasgow).

The Lossiemouth home club are also represented by Ian Geddes, Jordan Edwards and Jordan Milne in the quarter-finals.

Draw, scratch (Northern Amateur Championship): Ian Geddes v Michael Watson (Inverness Country Club); Jordan Edwards v Jordan Milne; Matty Wilson v Ryan Copland; Greg Telfer v Alan Duncan.

Handicap section 1 (Macpherson Rose Bowl) quarter-finals: Charlie Rowley (Keith) v Mark Spence (Moray); Brent Macleman (Moray) v Ryan Millar (Bush Hill); Stuart MacGregor (Moray) v Jim Wilson (Cathcart Castle); Aaron Stewart (Moray) v Craig H Smith (Newburgh).

Handicap section 2 (Ross Anderson Trophy) quarter-finals: Lee Marandola (Buckpool) v Chris Brown (Moray); Neil Smith (Moray) v Paddy Griffin (Formby Hall); Kyle Edwards (Hopeman) v Darren Kinnell (Moray); Rory Foster (Moray) v Daniel Begg (Moray).
