SECOND half goals from Michael Finnis and Ryan McRitchie sealed the Speysider's first North of Scotland Cup title in 42 years.

Grant Park was a sea of orange on Saturday afternoon as the Rothes faithful cheered their side to victory.

Jack knew how important that support was after a challenging start which saw his side fall behind to a Matthew Wright opener.

"The fans were absolutely magnificent. You can see the colour, the spectacle and the noise that they brought," said Jack.

"It was absolutely fantastic. They were up for fun on the day, there's nothing boring about them and they got right behind us from minute one.

"You can tell that the energy they created during the match fed right into the boys and it was crucial especially when we were looking to comeback."

A dominant second half display saw Finnis bundle home the equaliser before McRitchie secured a deserved victory with a towering header.

McRitchie was pleased to play his part in another chapter of Rothes history.

"I'm delighted to get the winner for this club. Rothes haven't won this competition in a while so to play my part is amazing.

"We had a difficult first half with the conditions but we improved a lot in the second.

"We had the wind on our side as well which was helpful."

There was more good news for Rothes prior to the game when the club announced that Ross Jack and Jim Walker had extended their stay with the Speysiders until 2025.

Jack is already targeting more success after penning a new four year deal.

"The boys have now really got a taste for it," he said.

"We've just got to keep plugging away now. We need to keep going."
