Moray clubs in pre-season action

THE football season isn’t far away from starting, and a raft of pre-season friendlies involving Moray clubs have been confirmed.

The first match is just over two weeks away, with Elgin City making the trip to Highland League Strathspey Thistle on Tuesday, June 25.

On the first Saturday of action (June 29) Forres Mechanics welcome a Ross County 11 to Mosset Park for their first warm-up game. Keith are on the road to Edinburgh on the same day as they take on Lowland League outfit Spartans.

Caley Thistle will split two teams between two Moray venues when they visit Rothes and Forres on Tuesday, July 2.

There’s Friday night football for Elgin City at Deveronvale on July 5, while on the following day Buckie Thistle’s first friendly has been lined up against a Ross County XI at Victoria Park.

Also on July 6, Keith take on local junior side Islavale in their annual Community Cup game at Kynoch Park.

On Tuesday, July 9, Buckie host Deveronside, Elgin City visit Clach while junior side New Elgin take on Nairn County at Pinefield.

The following day, Rothes head for Dingwall to take on Ross County.

There’s an all-Buckie clash at Victoria Park on July 13 at Victoria Park where Highland League thistle meet junior neighbours Rovers in a 2pm kick-off.

Rothes are at home to north junior champions Banks o’ Dee on the same day.

Juniors Burghead Thistle host Nairn County on July 16 and the next day sees Buckie Thistle at home to juniors Bridge of Don, and Forres Mechanics away to Nairn St Ninian juniors.

Keith host an Aberdeen XI on July 20 while Rothes are home to Colony Park.
