‘Princess’ Megan stormed to a unanimous points victory in her quarter final bout in the Bahamas on Thursday.

The 17-year-old, from Rothes, beat Cayman Islands opponent Chambria Dalhouse in a 51kg bout to reach Saturday’s semis.

Megan had already created history by becoming the first girl to fight for Scotland in a Commonwealth competition.

Her victory means she will also become Scotland’s first female boxing Commonwealth medallist as she is guaranteed at least a bronze.

Her Facebook was inundated with messages of congratulations from across Moray and beyond, when news broke of her win.

She now faces Shylah Te Urang Waikai from New Zealand on Saturday, with a place in the Commonwealth final at stake.
