Elgin Amateur Athletics Club excel at national event in Glasgow's Emirates Arena

CLUB records and personal bests were smashed by a young group of Moray athletes at a major national event.
This month’s under-12 Superteams event in Glasgow’s Emirates Arena attracted an entry from Elgin Amateur Athletics Club.
Teams of four competing against other clubs from across the country, all competing in four events each.
There were 55 girls teams and 46 boys teams taking part, with the Elgin AAC girls in particular rising to the occasion.
Star of the show was Holly Whittaker who was first overall out of more than 200 athletes to take the long jump title.
Her leap of 4.06 metres was a new PB and club record and she finished 10 cm clear of her nearest rival, with club-mate Tayla-Jai Greenfield third with a PB of 3.44. Gemma Forgie jumped 2.93 for 14th place and Lillia Clarke was 17th (2.86). In total, the Elgin boys and girls managed 10 PBs and six club records.
Results, boys, 60m: Adam Smith 10.66 PB, Jack Moore 9.63, Leo Grant 10.53, Lucas Burnett 10.37.
Long Jump: Smith 2.76, Moore 3.21, Grant 2.99, Burnett 2.92.
Shot Putt : Smith 3.84 PB, Moore 4.32, Grant 4.79 (U11 club record), Burnett 3.69 PB.
Relay 4x200m 2:22.14 (club record).
Girls: 60m: Gemma Forgie 9.92 PB, Holly Whittaker 9.00, Lillia Clarke 9.29 PB, Tayla-Jai Greenfield 9.33 PB.
Shot Putt : Forgie 3.89 (U11 club record), Holly Whittaker 4.76, Lillia Clarke 4.06 PB, Tayla-Jai Greenfield 4.44 PB.
Relay 4x200m: 2:05.36 (club record). Girls’ overall place, 5th out of 55 teams.
