SCOTTISH Cup success hinges on rediscovering the standards set at the start of the season, admits Rothes boss Graham McBeath.

The Speysiders slumped 3-0 at Forres Mechanics last Saturday and McBeath admitted the last two games have seen his team play poorly.

They cannot afford a repeat performance as they begin the chase for Scottish Cup glory at home to Clach on Saturday.

"It is always a hard game against Clach and although they haven’t started the season too well, I am sure Polly (boss Ian Polworth) will have them fired up on Saturday.

"Everybody gets excited by the Scottish Cup and given the financial rewards, I am sure the chairman will be delighted if we can progress.

"We have had a couple of reports on them but it is more about what our players do that is important," added McBeath.

Rothes will welcome back defender Steven Fraser who missed last weekend due to a family wedding, however, on-loan Buckie Thistle's Darren Wood is ruled out. Michael Dunn should be free of injury.
