ROTHES' season ended on a sour note when they were thrashed 5-0 at home to Wick Academy.

The Speysiders were never at the races in this encounter as the visitors made it four wins in a row.

Missing Franny More, who has decided to quit football, Rothes were looking to finish their season on a high at Mackessack Park on Saturday.

However, the visitors were two-nil up inside 20 minutes through a Steve Cunningham double.

And the game was over as a contest before half-time when Sam Mackay made it 3-0.

Rothes boss Graham McBeath is looking to add five or six new faces to his squad over the summer and this result will only heightened his determination to strengthen the squad.

Goals from Richard Macadie and Gary Weir made it fve with half an hour left to play.

Rothes managed to halt the tide of goals as they brought the curtain down on a disappointing season.
