Buckie were looking to make amends for a slow start to their Highland League title defence by picking up more silverware, and got off to the perfect start at Christie Park.

Joe McCabe’s header had Jags in front inside five minutes.

Buckie maintained their lead until the break, but the contest turned around in the second half.

Huntly’s ace marksman Angus Grant equalised with a penalty kick just two minutes after the break following a foul at a corner kick.

A header by the towering Ross Still midway through the half edged Huntly in front for the first time.

And the home side sealed their passage into the final five minutes later when Grant fired home his 17th goal of the season.

Banks o’ Dee came from 2-0 down to beat Aberdeen 4-2 in the other semi-final last Wednesday.

Huntly will be gunning for revenge against their Aberdeen opponents.

Dee beat Huntly in the Aberdeenshire Shield final in 2022 on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw after 90 minutes.

And the outcome was the same when the sides met in the semi-finals of the following season’s competition as Banks o’ Dee won another shoot-out.
