Elgin City manager Allan Hale could make another transfer move but is pleases to see Borough Briggs injury list shorten

Elgin City manager Allan Hale is relieved to see his squad’s injury list shortening week-by-week.

Speaking after Saturday’s important 1-0 win over League 2 leaders East Fife on Saturday - see video interview above - the Borough Briggs boss praised his team for what he felt was a deserved success.

He said he was delighted with the performance of centre back Jake Dolzanski, who played his first game since October.

Veteran Ross Draper also returned to fold as a late substitute, having torn a thigh muscle in the Scottish Cup win over Clyde back in October.

Keeper Tom McHale recently returned after almost five months out with an ankle injury, putting in a starring performance on Saturday in his first home league game since August.

And with long-term absent midfielders Ryan MacLeman and Rory MacEwan finally over their injury problems and back on the City bench at the weekend, Hale is pleased to have more options available.

Centre back Jack Murray, a stand-out in his first season at the club until he picked up an injury at Edinburgh in December, is also expected to return to the fold in the next two weeks.

That would leave just striker Dylan Gavin out, with his knee ligament tear expected to keep him out until at least the end of March.

Hale will soon be able to rest up players who have played through the pain barrier to help the team out during their injury crisis.

The team will have little time to recovery from Saturday’s tough game as they are back on home soil tomorrow night in a League 2 clash with Bonnyrigg Rose.
