Thunderstorms halt Moray Golf Club's five-day open but play resumes with knockout rounds

Stormy weather brought Moray Golf Club's five-day open to a standstill on Tuesday.

Play was suspended for the day when thunder and lightning struck on the Moray Firth coast.

A club spokesperson said players would restart their rounds at 7am today from the position they finished when play was interrupted on Tuesday.

"In the event of a tie in the scratch section there will be no play-off and qualifiers will be worked out on better old course score.

A total of 32 qualifiers in each of the three sections made it through to the knockouts.

The semi-finals will be played on Friday morning with the finals beginning at 1pm, 1.30pm and 2pm.
