VIDEO: Elgin throw away two-goal lead

By SPP Reporter

A TWO-goal lead was not enough security for Elgin City as they crashed to a 5-2 defeat at Stirling on Saturday.

Elgin City TV match highlights above show Kerr Hay and Shane Sutherland put the visitors 2-0 up, before their hosts hit back emphatically.

Just a week after winning at Forthbank against Stirling University in the Scottish Cup, it was not a happy return for Gavin Price’s team.

After such a strong start, the fell away in the closing 25 minutes of the first half and found themselves 3-2 behind at the break.

It got worse for Elgin when Jordan Lowdon was controversially sent off, and the Binos ran in two more goals to finish their opponents off.

City will be desperate to return to winning ways when they host bottom club Albion Rovers on Saturday.

They will welcome back captain Jon-Paul McGovern from a two-game ban but Lowdon’s red card means he will be suspended for Rovers’ visit.
