A DOUBLE from Ross MacIver helped Elgin City keep their play-off hopes alive with victory over Clyde.

The Ross County loanee opened the scoring early on as he headed home a Brian Cameron cross for his first goal for City.

Clyde got back level in first half stoppage time as the near-side linesman judged Martin McNiff's close range effort to have crossed the line before being blocked by goalkeeper Kyle Gourlay (see Elgin City TV highlights below).

However with 10 minutes to go, fellow Ross County loanee Greg Morrison linked up well with MacIver to set the striker up for his second of the afternoon.

With Annan losing to Peterhead, Elgin's win over Clyde reduces the gap on the fourth place play-off spot to eight points with City having a game in hand.

Elgin travel to Hampden to face Queen's Park on Saturday, before taking on Clyde at Broadwood next Tuesday evening.
