FOUR fine finishes gave Elgin City victory in their opening league match of the new season.

Match highlights from Stranraer FC's YouTube channel

City built on their two Betfred Cup wins over Stirling and Montrose with a polished performance at Stranraer's Stair Park.

Gavin Price's side led at the break through a Russell Dingwall goal.

And they saw off the challenge of the team relegated from League 1 last term with good strikes by Kane Hester and Conor O'Keefe.

Tom Devitt headed one back for Stranraer on 77 minutes but Dingwall sealed the win from the penalty spot after a foul on Hester which led to a home red card.

City boss Price told Stranraer TV: "It was a long trip down the road but a perfect start to the season in terms of the result." (See full interview below).

Elgin's first league clash at Borough Briggs arrives on Saturday when they host Brechin City.

The game is behind closed doors but Elgin City are streaming the action live on pay-per-view via their website, where virtual season tickets are also available to buy.
