Scottish Gas Scottish Cup: Watch Buckie Thistle defeat derby rivals Huntly to set up date with another Highland league side Formartine United

The trend for Highland League sides drawing each other in the Scottish Cup goes on.

Buckie Thistle’s reward for a 3-1 win at Huntly in the first round on Saturday is another short away trip to face fellow north side Formartine United.

Fin Allen’s double - watch Scottish Cup youTube highlights above - earned Jags a place in the next round.

Owen Morris had given Huntly a half time lead on Saturday before ex-Huntly loanee Fin Allen equalised, on the rebound after a Ryan Fyffe free kick was saved by home keeper Lenny Wilson early in the second half.

The home side looked poised to regain their lead soon after when Angus Grant raced through on goal but Aberdeen loan keeper Theo Simpson blocked an outstretched foot.

Marcus Goodall lobbed Buckie in front from a Lyall Keir through pass, and Allen did more damage to his old team when he headed home from a Harry Noble corner on the right to make it 3-1.

Jags’ next opponents Formartine edged out hosts Lossiemouth in another all-Highland League game to make it through.
