GRAEME Stewart said he was proud of his Buckie Thistle players for running Championship Caley Thistle so close in the Scottish Cup, see highlights below.
Daniel MacKay's 86th minute strike rescued Inverness after Jack Murray and Callum Murray both levelled for Highland League Buckie on the night.
"I am proud, but I'm also really, really disappointed," said Stewart.
"I said to the boys, I'm not into glorious failures.
"Although I'm really proud of them and I thought it was an outstanding performance, when you take everything into account – and I mean everything, not training, being part time, the boys working in the day, losing three of our best players in the last week in Joe McCabe, Andrew MacAskill and Scott Adams – I'm really proud of them, but I think the game was there for us."
After Callum Murray's brilliant individual effort made it 2-2 on 84 minutes, Stewart believed his men could go on and win.
"I was thinking go and get the winner," he said.
"We set a game plan out and I think it worked, we were causing them problems.
"We always thought Callum Murray would come on, and the pass through to him, his touch and his finish was outstanding.
"I was thinking we could do that again, but their third goal was poor from our point of view.
"The ball shouldn't have come in, we had a couple of chances to clear it, but it ricochets off three people and goes in.
"After conceding in the first minute people will be thinking it could have been four or five, but the character my lads showed was unbelievable.
"That's the bit I'm happy with, after going 1–0 down in 30 seconds against a Championship team we pushed them all the way until the 94th minute."
