RUSSELL Dingwall's energetic midfield display and penalty goal inspired Elgin City's 2-0 Betfred Cup win over Stirling Albion on Saturday.

Dingwall netted only his second goal for City after winning a late spot kick which he took himself and scored.

He spoke about the match in a video interview (see above).

In his first competitive match in seven months, Dingwall was impressive with box-to-box running and tackling opponents to help his team to a winning start.

He is relishing the Black and Whites' cup trip to Montrose in midweek and Saturday's trip to Stranraer to kick off a League 2 campaign he expects to be very tight.
