Scottish Cup third round highlights as Buckie Thistle tumble out of competition at Clydebank after having Hamish Munro and Dale Wood sent off

Buckie Thistle couldn’t repeat their Scottish Cup ten-man heroics in the third round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday.

Jags lost 2-0 to unbeaten West of Scotland League Clydebank.

A straight red card shown to assistant manager Hamish Munro saw Jags reduced to ten men in the first half in a repeat of their tie at Broxburn Athletic a year ago.

Last season Buckie managed to force penalties a man short and draw Celtic, this term they couldn’t find a way back when they had a second player dismissed.

Munro’s sliding tackle on 35 minutes was deemed to be dangerous by the referee and he was sent off with the score at 0-0.

Buckie kept the scoreline blank until midway through the second half when a fine Nicky Little finish put the Bankies ahead.

There was still time for the ten men to rescue something but their challenge was effectively ended by a double whammy five minutes later.

Dale Wood was adjudged to have fouled a home striker on a run towards goal and a penalty was awarded, with Wood also being shown a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity.

Little drilled home the kick for his second of the game to end the Buckie challenge.
