Professional debut victory for Moray boxer Fraser Wilkinson after unanimous points verdict at Glasgow's Crowne Plaza

FRASER Wilkinson's professional boxing career got off to a flying start with a unanimous points win in his debut bout.

The Elgin Amateur Boxing Club fighter, who now represents Kynoch Boxing Scotland on the pro circuit, defeated Blackpool opponent Dale Arrowsmith after a four-round fight on Friday night.

Wilkinson (20), from Hopeman but now living in Forres, won all four rounds to gain a unanimous 40-36 verdict from the judges.

The Forres-based boxer took to his Facebook account after the bout to announce his win.

"What can I say? 1-0 baby," he said. "Debut complete....never lost a round......main event.

"What a night to start off the pro career! Thank you to everyone who made it that bit special, from where ever you travelled from I’m grateful!

"Also a big thank you to Ratch and Elgin boxing club for getting me to this point I’m more than happy to take the W home to them!

"Last to my sponsors which without you none of it would be possible, thank you!"

Wilkinson hopes to land a home boxing show at Elgin Town Hall in 2022.
