An ‘American’ Tournament was held prior to the trophy presentation. Seven clubs were represented with 38 players taking part.

The competition was held in pleasant conditions in contrast to the previous Saturday’s heavy rain which forced the cancellation of the junior event.

After two and a half hours of play, which saw everyone completing six rounds, the event ended in a draw with Kingussie and Lossiemouth finishing on 14.5 points (the average of the teams’ total score).

The winners will share the Galbraith Quaich for six months each.

There were individual awards up for grabs. Jim Meisner (Elgin) came out best male amassing 19 points. Also on 19 points was the women’s champion Marjory Stronach (Aberlour and Rothes).

Alannah Ayres (Rothes) won best under 18 girl and Liam Anderson (Rothes) best boy.
