2023 Moray and Banffshire Heroes winners announced
THE winners of this year's Moray and Banffshire Heroes have been announced.
A fun-packed evening at Brodie Countryfare brought together unsung heroes from the four corners of the two counties.
Inspiring carers Anne and Alan Doughty from Dyke took the night's top honour when they were announced hero of heroes, a category sponsored by AM Macpherson.
The pair's efforts have seen them care for more than 50 children over the last 30 years, which also netted them the carer of the year award sponsored by Parklands Care Homes.
A nomination for the pair read: “Their willingness to create a warm, safe home for young, often challenging people, is unwavering.
"When a recent placement ended last year, we assumed they’d consider retiring as they’re both pensioners, but instead they took on a new placement with a young teenager.
"Fostering is not just a job for Anne and Alan, it’s a way of life.”
