Covid-19 vaccine update.

NEARLY 30,000 adults in Moray have now received their first Covid-19 jab.

Figures released today by Public Health Scotland show that 28,741 people in Moray (or 36.1 per cent of the area's adult population) have received their first dose of either the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine.

This means 1639 people have been vaccinated since last Friday's update (which was delayed from Wednesday).

Moray's figures have slipped slightly behind the national average, with 36.6 per cent of Scots aged 16 and above (or 1,661,879 people) having received a first dose.

NHS Grampian, which encompasses Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City, is further behind the average. The health board has given out 158,296 first dose jabs, equating to 32.6 per cent of adults across the region.

Nationwide, a total of 92,550 people have received their second jab.
