4th Lossiemouth Company have made history by winning all the Moray Battalion competitions and trophies, as well as being crowned Best Junior Section and Best Company Section in Moray.

The company meets at Hythehill Primary School, Lossiemouth, every Wednesday during term time and has nearly 80 boys in their three sections.

4th Lossiemouth won all Moray Battalion competitions including high jump, general knowledge, football, swimming, uni-hoc, figure marching and all the bible awards. The North Scottish Area football tournament was also won by the company.

The closing service at Lossiemouth Baptist Church was held on Sunday, May 25, where all of the bible awards were presented. Last Wednesday, the Annual Award Ceremony and Display at Hythehill Primary School saw the boys presented with their annual awards and trophies by Susanne Campbell, head teacher at Hythehill Primary.

Local Council and Company Captain James Allan was "very proud" of the boys' fantastic achievements this session and praised them, and their parents, for this great success in their 30th Anniversary year.

Local MP Douglas Ross was the inspecting officer and principal guest and inspected the company and presented the trophies.

He told the Northern Scot: "It was a real pleasure to speak with all of the boys in the company. It’s one the largest Boys Brigades in the area and, as well as having big numbers, they’ve also had an impressive year after winning every competition in the Battalion.

"James (Allan) and his fellow officers and helpers do great work throughout the year and you could see from the pride of both the boys and their families how much their achievements mean to everyone involved with 4th Lossiemouth.”

Awards were handed out to many boys, but some of the individual winners were as follows: Dominic Gilbert (Spiritual Awareness), Harry Long (Sportsman of the year), Nikko Walker (Best anchor recruit), Lachlan Main (Best anchor boy), Fraser Reid (Best recruit junior), George Long (Best boy), Jack Mackenzie (Best recruit, company), Paul Donaldson (Best boy, company), Archie Duncan (Bridge 45 Endeavour Trophy).
