Stars of 1980s' pop music set for Black Isle extravaganza – ABC, Nik Kershaw, Toyah and T'Pau confirmed

STARS of the eighties are set to shine at the Black Isle Showground for a nostalgia-fuelled party that will also put a smile on faces at one of the Highlands' most cherished charities.

ABC, known for hits including The Look of Love, Poison Arrow and All of My Heart, will headline a two-day bash at the Black Isle Showground at Muir of Ord.

Also lined up for Isle Be Back, are Toyah, who rose to fame on the back of It's A Mystery and I Want To Be Free and Wouldn't It Be Good star, Nik Kershaw.

T'Pau, famous for China in Your Hand and Heart and Soul, also feature in the event scheduled for May 13 and 14, 2022.

It has been organised by North Highland Events, in association with XSP Entertainment.

Five per cent of ticket sales are being donated to Highland Hospice.

The '80s' party starts on May 13 at 7pm with a host of tribute acts to the decade and a giant eighties karaoke where a world record will be attempted.

The Saturday kicks off at lunchtime through to 11pm with all the main talent, headlined by ABC.

The bill also includes Blancmange, Doctor & the Medics, Owen Paul and Black Lace.

The hospice celebrates its 35th birthday in 2022.

Highland Hospice’s corporate fundraiser Karen Duff said: “We are honoured and delighted to be chosen as the benefitting charity of such an exciting event. On behalf of the many individuals and those close to them who experience Highland Hospice’s care, I would like to extend a huge thank you to North Highland Events and XSP Entertainment.

"This will make a fantastic contribution to our 35th birthday celebrations – it is something different and fun for the area, and let’s face it, who doesn’t love a dance to '80s' tunes?!”

Liam Christie, managing director of North Highland Events said: "This event has been a pipe dream for us for a long time and it's great to be working alongside teclan who are supporting the marketing and promotion of the event and XSP Entertainment who are working closely with all the artistes' management teams. We are all bought into giving the Highlands a great musical experience ahead of a great line-up of shows and festivals already established across the North of Scotland.”
